"About face" is not just about face. It is about making an about face, an examination of my visual language and an amalgamation of my experiences and processes. It is a body of work that fully integrates sculpture, drawing, painting and photographic images.

These are sometimes 2nd and 3rd generation images that have been digitally photographed, manipulated post printing and hand pulled on to chiffon or photographic papers. The images are layered and integrated with sculptural elements and found materials to create assemblages that achieve an aesthetic integrity and complexity that would be impossible to accomplish by any other process. The viewer is forced to see within the image and find the depth that exists beyond the surface.

The work in About Face coalesces into succinct yet subjective statements and finds bittersweet contradictions that reference the dichotomies that exist within the world and ourselves.
